When I saw National Geographic's animated video, How Your T-Shirt Can Make a Difference, about how much water it takes to make one cotton t-shirt, I decided to research how much water it takes to make other common goods. Having spent my junior and senior year of undergrad conducting research on the effectiveness of Redart clay as a water filtration material, water conservation is an important issue for me.
With the research collected, I decided an interactive information design would be the most effective means to visually communicate the information, since it takes 1,321 gallons of water to make 500 sheets of paper.
